November 2008

Belen and Thomas went back to Kuwait at the begining of November so Belen could earn some money and Thomas could start school (pre KG). Here is Thomas at the end of his 1st day in his Mums classroom.

It was a tiring first day (probably not helped by the fact that he had to be up at 6am!)Fun with Mum´s glasses.

September/October 2008

While I was at home recuperating Belen and Thomas got out and about around the village with his 3 Morrocan friends Halima, Radwan and Maria. Here is Thomas collecting blackberries with Halima.

Tom´s 3rd Birthday

Tom celebrated his 3rd birthday in the vilaage. We invited those friends that were still around (most had gone back to Madrid/Avila as school had started) and a good time was had by all.

August 2008

After my unfortunate accident I spent 3 weeks in the Clinico San Carlos hospital in Madrid. I had an operation to fit this frame on my leg.

four days after the operation they took off the bandages and let me go home.
Shortly after my release from hospital we went back to the village to begin my recuperation. We had a visit from Carolina & Jose Luis (plus Samuel and Diego), Beatriz and Jesus and Marimar & Pedro.

August is fiesta time in Niharra. Here are some pictures from the parade.

July 2008

The rain in Spain stays mainly on the.........well not always.

Eating out in the village.

Marimar and Pedro come for lunch.

Two days before we were supposed to go to the UK I fell of a ladder in the village, which then fell on my leg and broke it quite badly. After an unpleasant trip ot the Avila ER we went to Madrid.

June 2008

Thomas enjoying a book in one of our last days at Fahad Sultan. We probably would have stayed there but they are going to demolish it.

The living room at our new flat in Mangaf only 5 minutes down the road. The building is called, ironically for Belen, Spanish Villas. The flat is much bigger and a bit more modern and has a nice view of the Gulf.
